Evenings of Delight

A series of 6 london-based events that run between January and June 2009 at the Candid Projection Room in Angel. They complement the Shoppinghour ideal which started off as a publication and is now much more. The idea is to create access for students and artists to expose their work within a critically rich and friendly creative public space that encourages discussion and exchange. The Candid’s raw neoclassical/post-modern ‘underground’ aesthetic gives the evenings an avant-garde feel that is perfectly suited to the often yet undiscovered eclectic pieces on show. Besides film and video screenings we also invite performances, experimental music, talks, installations and VJ sets. Each evening is prepared and promoted individually with a specific curatorial theme in mind.

Special thanks to Mika Hayashi Ebbesen, who became involved with the Evenings of Delight six months after arriving in London, fulfilling a passion for curation & the thoughtful exploration of other artists' work. She is currently setting up a new series of events titled Duration:London under the art collective The Loose Play Atari which she started with artist Amanda Wasielewski.
